Hi, all. You may recall a week or two ago that Mckrongs made a post on these forums about building hype for MH4 and obtaining merch items, for a person called Jake,
That's me, and I've finished up everything, and sent the message I planned, as follows. Thanks to everyone who helped!
"Hi, Yuri.
First off, I want to apologize in advance for the lengthy message. I assume you recieve many messages daily, and this might just be inconvenient for you, but I feel as if you're the voice and face of the Western Monster Hunter community, and I'd appreciate any and all effort you put into reading the entirity of this message.
My name is Jake. We've spoken a while back, around January/February of this month, but you're busy on here so I doubt and don't expect you to remember me. Our little chat was about the region locked servers of MH3U, and a copy/paste message I had a legion of people send to you, and the MH official page on Facebook. Thankfully, that worked, and I'm currently able to hunt with my North American friends. On top of that, a thread on this site was brought to my attention by user "Benster", who happens to be a friend of mine, about the #BRINGMH4TOTHEWEST stunt on the Official page. Again, that was my fault. If you can be bothered scrolling down the wall-posts on that page, you'll see the first is by me, "Jake K---------".
But I'm not here to gloat, or ask glory of you. I'm here for a seperate purpose.
I've been a fan of Monster Hunter for as long as I can remember, starting with Monster Hunter back on the PlayStation 2. Since then, at a young age of 10, I've obtained Monster Hunter Freedom, MHF2, MHFU, and purchased a Wii exclusively for Tri, and a Wii U exclusively for MH3U. At the moment, I'm considering importing MH4, and a Japanese 3DS, as many of my friends have already. On top of that, I've got a few Revoltech Monsters and a Plush Tigrex from AmiAmi.com. Easy to say, I'm a big fan.
On top of this, from July of last year, until March of this year, I ran a Facebook Community page entitled "Tigrex", after my favorite Monster. I had a following of 7000 people, but closed it due to personal reasons, mainly University Studies and family life. Regardless, the page allowed me to make a name for myself in the online community of Monster Hunter, and was the reason I was able to spread the message about the region lock. From this page, I was able, with the help of the admin of the 26000 fan "Deviljho" page, to create a Monster Hunter group known as "Le Guild Hall", a place to organise hunts and discuss all things Monster Hunter. Link as follows: https://www.facebook.com/groups/289936367773172/
This is where the forefront of my message comes into play. Many of the members in Le Guild Hall participated in the contesting of the region lock, and the #BRINGMH4TOTHEWEST trend on Facebook. And so, I put together a little project.
A few of our members have imported MH4 from Japan, and are currently playing it, including Patrick, the admin of Deviljho, and Minegarde member Kogath. However, this expensive method isn't available to everyone. Not to mention, the, well, y'know, most of us don't speak Japanese.
So, I started a little movement. I called it "Operation: Get Hype Son", a homage to the failed "Operation: Cherry Blossom" all so long ago. My aim was to collect the merchandise images of the members of Le Guild Hall. To my surprise, I ended up gaining participation and support from The Monster Hunter Wiki (including admin McKrongs), Costa Rica's "Tico Hunters Unite", "Monster Hunter Puerto Rico", "4 Puercos Team", "Monster Hunter Peru", "Monster Hunter NYC", "Monster Hunter Community UK", and many more, mostly from Facebook.
After a few weeks, I wanted to present to you, the fruit of my efforts.

It's not much, but it's something. Why did I do this? Why did I send it to you?
Well. I felt this was a way that we could show Capcom that people in the west DO care about the Monster Hunter series. I felt that it could build some hype. And I thought it could bring the community closer together.
I sent it to you because, as I said, I view you as a leader of the Western Community, not to mention an employee of the company. And I felt that you could pass it on to your superiors, or someone that could make a difference.
Now, needless to say, I'm not expecting anything soon. I know how business works. I know that we only just got MH3U about 8-9 months ago, and a release of MH4 at this time would decimate sales. I'm not demanding anything. I just wanted Capcom to see this, and hopefully consider some future planning. It's all because of the love, enjoyment, and friendship I gain from this amazing series. As you know, "In the World of Monster Hunter, you're never alone". Included in that image are some pieces of art from close friends of mine (McKrongs, and the Facebook art page "Ashmish") who contribute to the online community, on top of all the merchandise.
All in all, I just want to say thanks (if you made it this far). Thanks for reading, for putting the time in, and for everything you've done for the community.
With many thanks,
Jake,
aka
RampagingTigrex"
