(Disclaimer: MHWilds is NOT confirmed to be Open World. This is just fun guess work)
So here's how I think Wilds will do in order to balance the traditional MH gameplay with open world and not make the same mistakes as starfield.
Weather Seasons And Creature Behaviour
So now would be a good time to bring back an enhanced version of dos's season and weather system.
It's open world won't be as big as DD2 so only 15 large monsters appear in the open world(3 per biom section) and the pattern will rotate based on season(summer has an increase of fire monsters while rainy and typhoon season sees more thunder monsters for example) and breeding season will see visual changes in sexually dimorphic monsters ala black Diablos and Bright Hypno or maybe the Rathalos having more vibrant colors or mizutsune females appearing instead during none breeding seasons while monsters in must/heat deal more damage during breeding season.
Since Monsters are spawned at random. You only carve monster once but it opens a menu that'll give you a plethora of materials + if you slayed a monster via quest you'd get quest rewards after so there'd be less need to grind the same monster. Also, because of the nature of the spawnrate, mobs of small monsters fill in before you reach the target with the same seasonal behaviors and AI patterns(which we see in the trailer) so the action never stops while exploring. And while we're talking about quests
Quests Hubs And Multiplayer
So the Palociraptor(what I'll call our mount for now) will usher in a new standard for open world games. Fast paced exploration. No need to find complicated overwoven mountain passes to get to the top when you can hop and glide your way there and sprint to wherever your objective is or locations and hidden areas in a few minutes.
But not only that. Basically what everybody has been theorising about. Which is the games story being about you being an Explorer sent to an uninhabited part of the new world. So you basically have a portable camp because you will be traveling way more in this game.
Here's where this comes to play. Instead of just a camp but an entire portable hub. Basically since the story is about an Explorer. A caravan from the guild similar to the capital c is following you and settles down everywhere you set up camp. Since it's uninhabited therefore there are no villages. Your fellow NPC's will be in that hub to do anything the hunter needs
Quests can be taken on the fly with a quest chick that always goes with you and actually helps you fight unless disabled via options.
The quest system has to be changed in order to function properly in an open world. Quests will also function similarly to dos in the sense that their rotation is affected by the season but now there'll be two kinds of quests. Main story quests and side quests that you get from random strangers throughout the world that you still accept through the quest maiden despite meeting them.
Multiplayer will have servers that house a lot of players scattered throughout the world. They can encounter you fighting a monster and help you voluntarily to reap quest benefits or join your quest from there own quest maiden which had an option to select online quests or signals during random open world hunts. To avoid players interrupting solo runs you can set the game to offline mode.
Conclusion
Now I do hate many of the stuff I mentioned here. But in order for the game to function I an open world setting it kinda has to them in order to give the world relevance and keep it from being boring to explore.
What are your thoughts? How do you think they'll play this out or what do you think they'll never do from the stuff I mentioned.
I already placed my vote! Hopefully it will influence what monsters are returning in the next game!

If you go to the page for MHRise Monster Icons (linked in post), and click on any one of the images, instead of redirecting you to that Image file, it redirects to the monster page for Rathalos.
I remember buying these at an electronic store in my country Indonesia, and I thought it was a genuine copy. But no it's bootleg CD
So my first impressions would've been OK if not for lag. Seriously! This game runs like ass on my phone. Whenever I attack a monster the screen becomes white even, ruining the emersion. If not for that it's fairly good. The micros don't seem as predatory as other games like the ones made by gameloft. And it does feel like a lot of effort was put into it.
Controls are straight forward until. You unlock the advanced moves. You're basically stuck with sword and shield until you get further into the game.
So far I haven't needed to move yet.
Also the story of the game revolves around the MH Verse getting sucked into our world and us trying to stop it. If this should be made canon the it's capcom skimping for Paul Anderson again.
Seems very enjoyable except for the lag part.

So far so good! I'm pretty happy with what was presented! The interviewer asked really good questions. Am quite impressed with something I have or maybe had very low hopes for.

Out of nowhere, they've decided to reinvent the Figure Builder series once again! And just like how MHFB Plus went from the original's 9 to 6, now the number of figures is down to 4! But in return, their sculpt and paint jobs appear to be better than ever, and the figures themselves appear even bigger! And the bases now have they're own textures, and might return to being designed for each individual monster. Not to mention the extra detail on each individual figure's box! They're also finally selling individual figures separately online.
I'm admittedly disappointed that MHFB Plus isn't getting a final volume, since this likely means no Flaming and Violet figures. But maybe this will coincide with standard Figure Builder. It releases in March of 2024, so we'll have to wait and see.
