Ancient Trees are large plants found in the world of Monster Hunter, specifically the continent of the New World.
Ancient Trees in the New World[]
An especially large Ancient Tree can be found in the Ancient Forest, and is so massive that both Hunters and Monsters can run along its twigs and branches with relative ease. The larger parts of this tree serve as nests for arboreal and flying monsters such as Tobi-Kadachi and the Rath Wyverns, Rathian and Rathalos.
Another Ancient Tree can be found growing in the Tradeyard in Astera. The growth of these plants can be explosive, as evidenced by the fact that the Astera Ancient Tree appears to have burst through a part of the walkway on the level above.

- The Astera Ancient Tree grows larger each time you upgrade the Botanical Research Center in Astera, bursting through the walkways above after the third upgrade.
