“ | An Arzuros so mighty, it was crowned an Apex. It is eternally possessed by wrath and terror, possibly due to the myriad wounds that cover its body. Its forelegs are massive, deft removers of any who'd stand in their way. The call of an Apex unleashes its tortured anger on nearby beasts, driving them into a frenzy.

Apex Arzuros are an Apex Variant of Arzuros introduced in Monster Hunter Rise.
Physiology[]
Unlike normal Arzuros, Apex Arzuros are very dark colored, having multiple red scars across the body, mainly their arms, and having red eyes. Similarly to their Redhelm Deviants, they have large forelimbs. When enraged, the red scars start glowing.
Behavior and Abilities[]
Apex Arzuros are extremely aggressive, and will attack anything in sight. They are known to use their massive forelimbs to smash at prey. During The Rampage, it call upon monsters to assist it. It can destroy defenses in one hit.
When enraged, they are known to do a ground slam, rock throw, and more powerful version of an Arzuros claw swipe. Like its normal counterpart, it will steal available Honey from Hunters and eat it.

Notes[]
General Notes
- After the first Title Update, Apex Arzuros can be encountered in either the Shrine Ruins or Flooded Forest outside of rampage Quests.
- Apex Arzuros was voted 226th place in the Hunters' Choice for Top Monster during Monster Hunter's 20th Anniversary.
- This makes Apex Arzuros the lowest placing Rise (and the 5th generation as a whole) monster, with Sunbreak’s lowest place monster being Aurora Somnacanth at 225th place.
- Apex Arzuros is the first Apex encountered in the game, starting with the 4 Star Urgent Hub Quest. Afterwards, it will appear in random Rampage Quests.
- High Rank Quests are unlocked after beating Apex Arzuros' Rampage Quest for the first time.
- Their large forelimbs and attacks are based off a Redhelm Arzuros.
- Apex Arzuros is mediocre at anti-air defense, its only option being digging up and lobbing a small rock at its target.
- This rock can deal terrain damage (Water, Ice) but not deal respective blights.
