Bazelgeuse is a Flying Wyvern first introduced in Monster Hunter: World.
Physiology
Bazelgeuse is a very large Flying Wyvern whose body is covered in thick, heavy scales of a silver colouration. It has a very bulky upper body and a wide wingspan. Its short snout houses two rows of sharp teeth, and its underbelly is lined with dark grey scales. When enraged, the spaces between its scales glow red hot.
Abilities
Bazelgeuse uses its scales offensively during combat. It is capable of dislodging them at will from its body and quickly replacing them. Once dislodged, the scales violently explode, causing concussive damage to all foes nearby. However Bazelgeuse can also send out scales that drop on the field which will act similar to small mines, and will explode when attacked or when their owner slams it's huge body against them.
Habitat
This monster is prone to wandering the New World in search of prey, and can thus be found in all known locales on the continent. It often asserts itself as the apex monster in whatever environment it arrives in. However it is later revealed to have a habitat in the Elder's Recess which fits considering that the Uragaan and Dodogama, both of whom have explosive attacks as their main source of damage and have bodies tempered by the lava.
