Basically if you look at each of the fleets within Monster Hunter world you can see each generation of players. Those who have been playing since the first generation were represented by characters like the commander and the Admiral, as well as the Huntsman. Well the 5th generation players were represented by the main character in the game. The whole game was essentially acknowledging the past Generations as well as the new one with the character designs.

It's never stated anywhere I'm pretty sure and he is a crossover creature (although he was labeled as an Elder Dragon at least)
But what makes me think he's Black Dragon level is his Ecliptic Meteor attack
When you look at the Black Dragons in Iceborne all 3 have moves that can one shot you
Safi'jiiva has the Sapphire of The Emperor
Alatreon has Escaton Judgement
Fatalis has his fire breath thing (dont know what its called)
Everything else including other Elder Dragons dont have moves like that except for Behemoth with his Ecliptic Meteor so I honestly think Behemoth is on their level
He probably isn't considered as one canonically but I can definitely see him rivaling one because he pretty much already does
Might've said it already but screw it, legends of the guild was overall trash, movie is glazed SIMPLY because it's canon to the games and it's lore accurate but almost everything else about it is just very poorly realized (pacing, character develpoment, animation, dialogues, plot is nun too special since it's a classic mh plot but it is acceptable ig) and the live action is kinda decent, plot is very basic but i'd say it's better to go like that rather than doing some weird stuff, also it's completely normal if someone dislikes it cause it's not accurate, but i've heard a dude sayin "ErM aCkUaLlY tHaT's NoT hOw A sWiTcH aXe WoRkS" like NO SHIT dude i swear sometimes these nerds just want the damn thing to be accurate and will ignore completely everything else and even tho the movie itself is nothing special, atleast the CGI is good, the pacing and the dialogues are decent, then some characters are trash, music is absolute dogshit but i will keep saying that overall it's just objectively better than that horror that netflix made.
(anyway i jus hope capcom will NOT ever make a mh movie ever again and jus focus on the games)
Who juste love going on expedition inside the guiding lands and the Citadel ?
I rarely sée anyone mentionning them, let alone play in tese
For me it's the stupid Pokidex levels of exaggeration in some of the monster lore
I dont like stuff like that, I just find it stupid and misleading, like no I dont believe Fatalis can scorch the entire earth in 3 days because he literally cant, no I dont believe any monsters managed to create the entire fucking planet, maybe they can make stuff like Islands as shown in World but creating the entire planet? No
Its something I hope eventually stops but in likelihood probably wont
It's not really a big deal I guess but it's still annoying

Do you think they are saving some surprises? Like you know, MONSTER HUNTER 6 or something MH Console/PC related! Because if this is all then the only really new thing is going to be Dragon's Dogma 2 gameplay since the rest is just content for games that are (or will be at that date) already out or a port of 3 games.
https://www.capcom-games.com/tgs/en-us/
Will it be in the digital event where we will have the reveal of Monster Hunter 6?
Because it seems that is going to last 50 minutes but in the Physical Event the only MH related thing that they're going to show is more of MH Now even though the game will be out already for one week.
Now this isn't about picking the one. It's about which one is the most unfair for you. As always I will go first. For me it was velkhana's ice breath. Now in normal circumstances this was fine cause it was easy to dodge.
Now that's until you learn it has no clip capabilities. I almost got mad when I got carted cause I didn't see the beam cause of the ice walls and the beam came through one and cost me the quest. Now I understand that I probably shouldn't have thought that was cover an I accept that lose, but it all well apart after it literally no clipped through the damn ground.
I had jumped off a ledge and I got sniped. Velkhanas head wasn't even over the ledge it just straight up aimed it's head at the floor and killed me. Now going through a ice wall was believable enough, but not the ground I rest my case.
Everybody wants a certain monster in the next game and that's boring cause its obvious so let's talk about what we don't want in the next game. The rules are you can only pick one and you have to atleast produce two sentences of hatred that explain why this creature should never see the light of day again.
Now my personal pick is Tigerx. He looks cool, but at the same time I can't stop thinking about digimon when I look at him. An his fight sucks the only things he does is stun lock you with a roar, charge you down the entire fight with some whacky hit box, and throw pocket sand. When I first met him I thought he was going to be cool like Barioth and Nargacuga now I hope he never escapes capcom head quarters again.
Finally killed him and now I have a right to share my opinion. Now before I delve into that realm let me just say I have no issue with the difficulty I know said fight is supposed to be hard and I would probably be disappointed if it wasn't.
I feel Alatreon breaks a golden rule when it comes to monster hunter. An that's more or less removing player choice. I had to go through the agony of 4 hours doing the safi siege to get some weapons that were worth a damn against him. One of the reasons for the difficulty of Alatreon for me is the fact I'd been using God's Isle for most of my playthrough and was forced into dual blades which I had minimal experience with. Now I will admit I could have grabbed a elemental bowgun that's if I felt like doing safi until I got a ice bowgun which I didn't feel like. An I refuse to grind for another weapon cause we all know a certain sensor lurks in the backlogs.
So basically I feel the fight removes your choice in what weapon you use and I might be being a brat, but I honestly feel this way. An anybody who avoided spoilers for the fight probably would have ripped their hair out when the handler proudly announced that they needed to go get a elemental weapon.
Now I don't know if this was capcoms intent, but it feels like they tried to add difficulty by making the player have to do a different build which I feel is not the right way of doing it. One argument somebody could make is how you can't use a fire weapon against a ratholos. Well the thing is about regular monsters is that sure you will be doing bad damage, but your not going to die. But in Alatreon's case if your not using what they have told you to use your going to die.
I been rambling for a bit so I'm going to leave it at that I would love to hear your opinions.
Now I have come to dump my thoughts and ideas here cause I can. I know nothing I say will ever become a thing, but I wish to share my horrible takes. Now let’s begin.
Now we all know that long swords get the best treatment out of all the weapons getting a new gimmick every game, but I was thinking maybe in the next game the bow guns can get some attention. Now the bow guns themselves are fine how they are, but so is long sword so why can’t I wish for more.
So all the wyvern ammo I feel in this area opportunity was missed. Now light bow guns only have mines while heavy has a lot more types of wyvern ammo. Now I was thinking what if depending on what you crafted said bow gun out of you would get a unique wyvern fire. Now what I mean by this is imagine for your wyvern ammo you start spraying the poison of the pukei pukei instead of mines for the light bowgun. Now I know that this would require a lot of work, but think about how much more it would encourage diversity when it comes to bowguns instead of picking the one that can load the most sticky ammo.
Now I can already here my dreams being torn down so I will give a couple more ideas.
Crimson glow Valstrax - Now the only thing I can come up with is a laser for the heavy bowgun.
Seething Bazelguese - Regular light bowgun mines on crack.
Velkhana - Call in a obrital ice strike with the heavy bowgun.
Ratholos - Cough* Cough* Flamethrower.
Nargacuga - I imagine shooting the same projectiles as nargacuga but smaller and they stick around for a while on the ground. Although this would probably only work if they let us use bleed on monsters.
Glavenues - Now I know he just shoots a simple fire ball, but hear me out. “Giving the heavy bowgun a chainsaw”. I rest my case feel free to call me out and explain why we can’t have things like these or if you want make some of your own unquie wyvern fires.
I think it is time Gunlance got an update to it's shelling damage. I feel ot is time to move away from fixed damage in a sense. I feel like shells should now be scaled off raw damage, but like impact CB, deal set damage no matter the part. Gunlance keeps hetting powercrept in 5th gen because of title updates.
Probably something everyone realized by now, and probably a post already made, but a post I wanted to make regardless because I was bored.
Transmission
The Frenzy: A virus transmitted via the dander coming off the wings of the Magala species naturally, and in concentrated beams when said Magala uses it offensively. Both only spread across one combat zone of a locale at maximum. Can also be passed from one infected to another via the usual means in which a virus can spread. Some monsters, depending on their capabilities, will spread it faster and farther than others, but have a limited time to do so.
The Qurio: Adaptable parasites with a significant range, able to cross even oceans in order to find hosts to feed from, spanning the entire reach of Sunbreak’s various locales, including the ones closer to Kamura Village. There are also a LOT of them. They transfer from one host to another as each host dies or is killed. If necessary, will come to the aid of a host. In the case of Malzeno, even form a symbiosis.
Score: Q:1 / F:0
Effects on Humans
The Frenzy: Halves natural healing capabilities and increases incoming damage.
The Qurio: Can inflict Bloodblight which reduces both natural and item-based healing capabilities and gradually drains health. I’m… not sure how to explain the innate regenerative effect in-universe? Because it logically makes no sense? So I’m just gonna go out on a limb and say “ignore that”.
Score: Q:2 / F:0
Treatment
Frenzy: Has a delayed onset that can be prevented via dealing damage in combat, and by using a nulberry. Fully incubated Frenzy can be cured via Antidobra.
Qurio: Takes effect immediately and only curable via Antidobra.
Score: Q:3 / F:0
Effects on Monsters
Frenzy: Drives the infected into a rage, causing them to be aggressive and restless with a disregard for their own safety. If the infected isn’t killed, it dies in days.
Qurio: A large quantity of Qurio can topple a large monster in minutes, while just a few can cause similar effects to the Frenzy, causing large amounts of pain and gradual blood loss, also driving monsters into a reckless rage and killing them in a few days if they aren’t killed before then.
Score: Q:4 / F:0
Can effect Elders?
Frenzy: All Elders are immune.
Qurio: Not lethal to Elders, but puts through them enough strain to fight off that the Elder becomes Risen, with a host of new abilities. All Risen Elders have visible scarring from the encounter.
Also noted: All members of the Magala species are affected by the Frenzy. While Shagaru becomes Risen, the Frenzy is lethal to both Gore and Chaotic Gore, meaning that the qurio are IMMUNE to the Frenzy. As the Frenzy has zero effect on Elders, both Malzeno and Gaismagorm are unable to become frenzied themselves.
Score: Q:5 / F:0
Conclusion/TLDR
As the title said, not even close. The Frenzy is a typically-transmitted virus that can’t even infect Elder Dragons, while the Qurio are intelligent parasites that know how to keep themselves alive as long as possible. They can do quite the damage to Elders. Afflicted and Risen Magalas exist, but alas (or praise be), never will exist Frenzied Malzeno or Gaismagorm. Perhaps one monster could be infected by both at the same time, but that really won’t be any different from Afflicted Gore and Chaotic, since they do pretty much the same thing in the end. The Qurio just do it a whole lot better.
The "who would win" posts are boring and annoying. Can we please just stop doing them? They provide nothing besides being an argument starter and are incredibly low effort.
Me: *On Monster Hunter wiki*
Some girl in class: Why are you playing Pokemon? Who even plays Pokemon?
Me: It's not Pokemon. Would you rather a giant dragon spitting on you instead? Because that's my world, thanks
I mean, seriously, would you rather be face-to-face with Velkhana or Pikachu?
I have posted about my shortsword concept on here before, IIRC. If you remember how I described it, can you tell me about it (or possibly even link the original thread)?
Thoughts on this?
It was only a little recently I stumbled upon several articles about this topic before realizing that, yeah, Capcom actually indicated that PC would be their primary focus in their future endeavors.
What does that imply? I hate to be grim, but I would like the shared thoughts of many of you in this community before I drew a conclusion for myself. After all, maybe some of you know something I don’t.
If this meant that Capcom wouldn’t lend another game to the hands of Nintendo for a while, same with Sony or Microsoft, and they’re left to their own devices, who are we looking to as their “vendor” for their games? Not to mention, I had heard soemthing about these new “Capcom ID’s.” These IDs seek to enable the owner to their products. Products would obviously mean anything owned by capcom.
That is a clear telltale sign of a company making itself “self sufficient” so to say. No longer confined by the gloomy contracts or bindings of [insert gaming giant here], and left to their own freedom to do various things. No more sharing profits with several companies.
Cacpom’s representatives have stated that it is due to PCs impact on the Japanese market that has lead to such a decision. That, and the pandemic shifting the common man’s interests to PC gaming. Apparently it’s doing exceptionally well. Better than anyone could’ve imaged (if you lived in Japan during the portable era of gaming anyway.)
I’m not much of a complainer when it comes to this kind of thing. They’re clearly focusing on their gaming demographic—which is fair. The pandemic shifted quite a few things, and if this is one? Then perhaps that now shapes Monster Hunter’s accessibility (and any other Capcom first party title.)
I’d also learned recently that Nintendo and Sony wouldn’t be featured at E3 this year. Whatever the reason may be, what does that mean for Monster Hunter and its appearance? I’d be shocked to see a steam exclusive monster hunter game, truly.
Would any of you?
TLDR: This is probably one of the better end game grinds that we have seen, even compared to Iceborne, despite what anyone would perceive as “very clear imperfections,” and I would hope that we continually have end games (if they bother implementing such a thing) that constantly promote variety rather than exclusivity (quite like we had in Iceborne when it came to fights like Safi, Kulve, Fatalis or Alatreon.)
Do any of you agree or disagree?
Let me preface this by saying I’m not looking to point out flaws of the system by any means. You and I both know that such a tangent could go on for eons—so I wouldn’t bore you with that. Besides, I’m no hot shot experienced game critic.
However, comparatively (to iceborne), Sunbreak actually has the better end game grind of all the main series titles thus far (if any of the ancient titles of the series have one to begin with.)
While I find myself getting bored very easily due to extended hunting periods of nothing but anomaly farming, in retrospect, there’s far more variety, choices, and room for experimentation than I give the game credit for. There’s a reason to hunt everything. Absolutely everything. What can’t you get value out of hunting in Sunbreak’s end game fiasco? Not only can you augment weapons, but you can customize the skills on your armor set. There is quite literally no mainline game that enables such dastardly freedom of set building.
What makes it better, is there are various monsters that drop identical afflicted parts for the sake of diversifying what you choose to fight. With there being so much choice, you’d think too much freedom is a bad thing. Maybe, maybe not, depending on the person. I believe that Sunbreak’s end game is the peak of what any monster hunter grind could be. We went from augmenting weapons to augmenting gear, purchasing afflicted parts with anomaly research currency, and various QOL changes.
In some ways, I do understand how this is an deterrent for some hunters—and I suppose I truly do understand. Having so much to do, you can’t even keep track of what to do. As any post game content should be, optional is the way to go, and the entire afflicted monster system can be ignored. That’s what leaves me speechless to some degree. The mere fact that you don’t have to do any of it, since it’s merely extra challenging content, while they continually add monsters (all of which don’t have to be afflicted.) It’s not the prettiest system, sure.
No one like fat HP pools to cut through. No one likes being two shot. No one likes constant anomaly research rank caps all the way to lvl 181 (as in you are gatekept from higher levels of monsters unless you’re the specified rank in the quest description, and this occurs a number of times.)
No one likes a DPS check. Should push come to shove, are the flaws listed truly make or breaks of an entire end game for any of you? I would certainly hope it’s not. As stated before, it’s definitely not the prettiest, but it’s the meatiest end game we’ve ever endured. I hope, that should they ever make an end game, they put this much effort into giving you reasons to do virtually everything.
