Brute Tigrex Discussion

This is merely a plausible explanation for the monster(s) in this article, and may or may not be considered canon to the series.

In-Game Information

"A subspecies of Tigrex, these beasts are as brutal as they are ravenous. They prefer volcanic regions, but can be found in a range of areas. Their howls are even more piercing than standard Tigrex roars and send shockwaves far and wide."

Taxonomy

Order: Saurischia
Suborder: Wyvern Feet
Family: Rex

The Brute Tigrex is a Flying Wyvern. Its closest relatives are Tigrex, Molten Tigrex, Dyuragaua, and Mi Ru.

Habitat Range

Brute Tigrex have been seen in the Volcano (3rd), Volcanic Hollow, Sandy Plains, Everwood, Dunes, Primal Forest, Elder's Recess, and Guiding Lands.

Ecological Niche

Brute Tigrex's role as a top predator is no different than that of Tigrex. It may hunt Rhenoplos, Volvidon, Slagtoth, Uroktor, and the Wroggi and Great Wroggi that live in the lower levels of the volcano. Brute Tigrex are also well known to attack other Tigrex on sight.

Biological Adaptations

Just as Tigrex has coloration suited to both sandy deserts and freezing snowy landscape, the Brute Tigrex has just the right coloration to blend in with the volcano's cliffs and crevices. It is confirmed that this altered coloration is the result of extreme heat causing volcanic ash, and other such impurities, fusing to this Tigrex's shell. These impurities have made Brute Tigrex's hide stronger, while also giving it better resistance to the Thunder Element. Due to living in the harsher volcano, Brute Tigrex's roar has become stronger compared to a normal Tigrex. This is due to the Brute Tigrex's roar not easily being heard in the harsher volcanic environments.

Behavior

Brute Tigrex appear much more aggressive and more maniacal in attacking in comparison to Tigrex. Brute Tigrex has been found to have a high metabolism, which could explain its aggressive nature.

Due to its ferocity, speed, and power it would probably be able to defeat or drive off most of these opponents, although, due to the risk of injury, it prefers to leave them alone, and the reverse is also true.It is heavily territorial, attacking anything that it has set in sight its boundary. Unlike the Tigrex, the subspecies doesn't seem to travel to subarctic areas to prey on the surplus [[Popo]], so it is rather resourceful with its environment, and preserves it's food suplies better than it's more common cousin. It may hunt [[Rhenoplos]], [[Volvidon]], [[Slagtoth]], [[Uroktor]], and the [[Wroggi]] and [[Great Wroggi]] that live in the lower levels of the Volcano. Since food is scarce in the volcano, the Tigrex Subspecies may occasionally be forced to prey on immature Uragaan, or other large prey, but it is most likely that it would just establish a new territorial range should this problem arise.

-Being extremely aggressive, it will even challenge, and possibly kill, a Rathalos if confronted or challenged for territory. It will fiercely attack hunters on sight. It is also quite stubborn, recklessly attacking like a stampede, even when it's extremely wounded by its foe. It would appear that it is more intelligent in attacking than its normal counterpart, making it quite a challenge to hunters. The heat of the volcanic region might contribute to its reckless behavior, as the heat would allow it to maintain its body temperature without wasting its own energy doing so.
