Demi Elder

Demi Elders (Japanese: 亜龍種 Aryūshu) are class of monsters introduced in Monster Hunter Wilds. This refers to monsters that are similar to but distinct from Elder Dragons in that they can be captured, but are nevertheless considered Elder Dragon-Level Monsters threats to the ecosystem.

• Demi Elder is the first Large Monster classification in the main series which was not introduced along with the debut of new Large Monster(s) that fall(s) under said class; by the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds, the classification covers only Monsters that had already existed in prior installments.
• Demi Elders were introduced in the Sixth Generation of the Monster Hunter series and as such, no Demi Elders existed in the Generations prior to Sixth.
  • However, Gore Magala, previously a ??? in the Fourth and Fifth Generations of Monster Hunter Series, was reclassified as a Demi Elder from the Sixth Generation and onwards.
• The literal translation for the class' name is "Demi Dragon."
