Doshaguma is a Fanged Beast first introduced in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Physiology[]
Doshaguma is a large monster with a bear-like gait. It is covered in thick golden-brown fur, with the area surrounding the back of its skull and the peak of its spine being noticeably shaggier and similar in appearance to a lion's mane. Similar to Arzuros, Doshaguma has armored forelegs and bear-like paws and claws, though not as heavily armored as the former's with only several small scutes and bumps being present. Its face is wrinkled, slightly reddish in hue and completely devoid of fur, with two large oval-shaped bony pads on the top of its cranium. It also possesses distinctive tusk-like canines on both jaws, with the tusks on the lower jaw protruding upwards being slightly larger in comparison. Its tail is long and covered in flowing brown fur as well. It seems to be similar in size to another Fanged Beast, Goss Harag.
Alpha Doshagumas are noticeably larger, more aggressive and more powerful, with faces that are a brighter shade of red as well as having thicker reddish colored manes.
Behavior and Abilities[]
Doshaguma are said to be very aggressive and territorial. It is also found in a wide-range of habitats. Despite these aggressive traits, Doshaguma can actually form small packs and attack their enemies as a group, usually with a single alpha and two subordinates. The reason why is yet unknown, though it could be seen as a protective measure against rival predators in the ecosystem. They can additonally stand on their hind legs and roar loudly, akin to other Fanged Beasts, to appear larger and more threatening to their opponents.
Doshaguma in battle mainly rely on their brute strength, using their powerful claws and paws to swipe, slash and smash opponents to the ground. Along with biting opponents with their fangs, they also like to charge at hunters with their jaws wide open to try and devour them. Doshaguma can also pick up and throw the corpses of their prey at hunters as an additional attack, often times, spikeless Ceratonoths.
