Monster Hunter Wiki

Elder Dragon-Level Monster (Japanese 古龍級生物) is a term that has been used to describe one monster's power as being comparable to that of an Elder Dragon. While it may sound like a rank or category, it really is only used as a descriptor and isn't a recurrent term. However, some fans have taken to using it for any monster that fits this definition.

The Elder Dragon-Level Monsters[]

The only monster to ever be called an Elder Dragon-Level Monster is Rajang. It is so due to its strength and ferocity being comparable to that of an Elder Dragon, and it can even go toe-to-toe with some, notably Kirin who it is known to hunt. Because it can compete for territory on equal footing with monsters the likes of Ruiner Nergigante, Furious Rajang is called a Super Elder Dragon-Level Monster (Japanese 超古龍級生物).

There are monsters that are not called Elder Dragon-Level Monsters, but fit the definition, either due to being able to compete on equal footing against Elder Dragons or having a similar destructive power to them, and so are sometimes called Elder Dragon-Level Monsters by fans.
