Taxonomy

Order: Sharp Claw - Suborder: Hard Teeth - Superfamily: Blunt Teeth - Family: Conga. Unlike the common Conga the Emerald Congalala has green fur. Yet it is the exact same species as it leads a Conga pack. It is unknown for sure what caused the color change but there are theorys but none proven. It may just be a mutation or unusual food causing the color.

Habitat Range

Green Congalala are mainly found in the Old Jungle and Great Forest, possibly because of a specific type of plant found in these areas. Normal Congalala do not live in these forest locations but Conga do with Emerald Congalala as the leader. However they are spotted interacting with the pink Congalala in the Swamp.

Ecological Niche

Emerald Congalala are possibly halfway up the food-chain. They feed mostly on vegetation and fungi, but would most likely not pass up free carrion or possibly even sick or injured Velociprey. However, the tables could be turned if a full pack of Velociprey, complete with a leader or two, attacked a solitary Green Congalala.

Green Congalalas may also find themselves prey to large predators such as the Nargacuga, Rathian, Abiorugu, and Espinas. Each of these predators are a major threat to the large primates and as such Emerald Congalala will do their best to avoid these dangerous creatures. But thanks to its defensive abilities, strong partnership and its intelligence, the emerald congalala should not be understimated.

Biological Adaptations

The Emerald Congalala is simply an unusual Congalala. The green colouration of its fur is possibly due to moss growing on it, or it could contain the pigments from the excessive amounts of vegetation it eats. This would also explain its flatulent properties, as its stomach would become a massive fermentation pot. It may also just be a genetic difference from the normal pink colouration of a Congalala.

The crown on its head signifies leadership among Congas as well as its impressive age. Congalalas are known to have great curiosity and can often be seen with something in their tail. Being an omnivore, they mostly eat mushrooms and vegetation. Due to this diet, fibers build up in its fermenting pot of a stomach and creates a unique defense mechanism (powerful flatulence). The Congalalas seems to have a strong stomach acid, which is able to digest Toadstools and Nitroshrooms.

Behavior

The Emerald Congalala are very curious of its surroundings, but also more aggressive and less social than normal Congalala, as they are rarely seen with young Congas.
