Fatalis is an Elder Dragon introduced in Monster Hunter.
Physiology
Fatalis is a traditional black dragon, with a long, serpentine neck and tail, along with a pair of large, yet muscular wings. Its body is covered in rigid black scales and lined with white spines along its back. Its head features four backwards-facing horns and rows of enlarged teeth, and fin-like ears. Like many other monsters, Fatalis has a pale underbelly, and like most other Elder Dragons, it possesses six limbs. Its forelimbs are surprisingly thin, belying immense strength.
Abilities
Fatalis is an extremely powerful monster, able to wipe out entire hunting parties with relative ease. Its primary weaponry lies in its flame breath, fabled to have reduced a kingdom to ashes within a single night, which can be utilized to produce either a stream of fire or explosive projectiles. Fatalis is also able to release a cloud of flammable dust and set it alight, similar to Teostra, and it is known to use its whip-like tail and powerful, bone-crushing jaws to defend itself from nearby attackers.
Interestingly, the massive Black Blade located within a cave in Pokke Village has been noted to regenerate after Fatalis materials are mined from it.
Behavior
Not much is known about Fatalis' habits, other then that it is extremely hostile to all living creatures—especially humans.
Habitat
Fatalis has only been observed at the ruins of Castle Schrade, and the natural environment from whence it came is completely unknown.

G-Rank Fatalis (Monster Hunter Frontier G Genuine)
The G-Rank Fatalis of Monster Hunter Frontier G was initially revealed on the Monster Hunter Frontier G3 official website. It is fought at Castle Schrade as a Conquest War Quest Monster. It was released in Monster Hunter Frontier G3.1 on January 8, 2014.
Apart from a few key differences, it has six horns instead of the Fatalis's four horns, and the chest now is glowing faint blue, which is possibly the new element Black Flame. It utilizes new and unique attacks.

Notes
General Notes
- Fatalis is taken from "fata", Latin for destiny, or fate. Its Japanese name is "Miraboreas[1]" (ミラボレアス), which might possibly come from Moirai[2] and Boreas[3].
- Fatalis' Japanese name has also been romanized as "Milla Boreis[4]"
- Fatalis is immune to any traps or hand thrown bombs (Flash Bombs, Sonic Bombs, etc.), although Barrel Bombs affect it, and it can be put to sleep, paralyzed or poisoned.
- If enough damage is done to Fatalis it will be enraged until it dies.
- When it's doing its Snap and Drag attack getting into contact with ANY of its body parts (including the long tail) will result in high damage/death.
- Shooting it with the Ballista, cannon, or any other projectile when it is flying can cause it to fall.
- The face/head is the weakest part of Fatalis.
- One can lure the Fatalis to move towards the courtyard by ground instead of air, which will then cause the gate to fall on it, inflicting damage and giving hunters some time to attack fiercely.
- It will flee three times (after or on 25 min. for each quest) and the fourth time is often the killing quest.
- Fatalis can be carved nine times, 3 times on the lower body, 3 times on the upper body and 3 times on the head.
- Fatalis' roar requires HG Earplugs to block.
Monster Hunter 1
Monster Hunter Freedom 2
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
- For the G-Level Fatalis, you have to complete one of each G Training Quest with any weapons.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
- It also has an attack similar to Dire Miralis, in which it releases a powerful fireball in front of it that explodes on impact.
- Fatalis will still flee after a certain threshold of time and damage is surpassed.
Monster Hunter Generations
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne
- If it is standing on hindlegs or flying, the flinch shot it will force it to enter crawling stance, as well as dealing small amounts of damage.
- If it is crawling, it will be thrown normally like other monsters, and be dealt heavy damage if successfully launched into a wall.
- However, similar to Kulve Taroth and Shara Ishvalda, launching Fatalis into a wall will only stagger it.
- Fatalis' head can be broken twice, which reduces the power of its breath attacks during the final phase for each break. Breaking Fatalis head will leave it laying still on the floor for several seconds.
- Fatalis also gains a pin attack during the final phase.
- Its fire breath will also leave patches of burning ground which deal damage over time to nearby hunters.
- End of phase 1: Behind a metal plating to the right side of the Castle Schrade. Fatalis has reached 80% HP.
- End of phase 2 : Behind a metal barricade that has to be manually raised behind the dragonators. Fatalis has reached 50% HP.
- Final phase: Under the Fatalis itself. Fatalis performs three waves in this phase. The first one means it has reached 40% HP, the second one 20% and the third and final means it has reached 5% HP.
- Plus, after slaying Fatalis, the first Monster Hunter victory theme (Triumph!) will play.
