Mary (Japanese マリィ) is a young monster rider.
Appearance[]
Mary is a young girl with green eyes and long orange hair with part of it tied in a ponytail on top of her head. She wears super customized Rathalos Armor that consisted of dark blue shirt with purple elbow-long sleeves, and a matching shorts. She wears goggles, left shoulder guard, left breast plate, elbow guards, gloves, and boots made with Rathalos materials. She also wear a cream scarf that have Rathalos wing patterns and five tuffs at both ends, a leather belt with Rathalos parts on the sides, and a leather strap on her left leg. Her Kinship Stone is on her left glove.
She wields the Tomb Saber with the sheath nowhere to be seen.
Personality[]
Mary is a very energetic and kind-hearted girl who treats everyone equally.[1]
Background[]
A new rider belonging to the Central City of Laqua that accompanies the player as a partner on their missions.
She lost her parents during childhood, and was then taken in by former Laqua chief, and became Hilda's adoptive sister.
Mary respects Hilda, who has become the village chief and a talented rider, so she chose to become a rider too.
Wanting to return Hilda's trust, she decided to accompany the player in their journey.
One time, she accidentally dropped food supplies that were meant to be delivered to the Valux Subjugation Unit into a deep valley, and she was ordered to recover them.
To prevent Mary from escaping during the punishment; the Tomb Saber, her beloved keepsake from her father Ryuga, was taken away. She was given a Deviljho long sword, the Reaver "Cruelty", to be used in the meantime.

[Dread Dragon Sword] is a weapon change form of Mary, she wields the Reaver "Cruelty". Her element is now 
Dragon instead of 
Fire.

Apprentice Santa Mary[]
[Apprentice Santa] is an alternate form of Mary. Her element is now 
Thunder instead of Fire, and she is now a Recovery type instead of Attack type.
Appearance
As [Apprentice Santa], Mary wears a completely new outfit consists of a white shirt with elbow-long sleeves that shows her belly with a red, multi-pointed star collar, a white wool skirt with a red stripe and a layer of a red, multi-pointed star similar to the collar. She wears a pair of black fingerless gloves with white wool on the wrists, a pair of brown heels that resembles Anteka's feet with a golden star on each. The shoes are worn over a pair of over-the-knee, red and white stockings with a leather strap on each, a multi-part belt with a star buckle with four bells hanging on the side. She also wears a santa hat with two golden stars on it, with the larger star has a silver star on it. On her back is a white bag with yellow star patterns. The bag has a leather strap and a Rathalos plush's head sticking out. Her Kinship Stone is on her left glove.
As [Apprentice Santa], she wields a metal long sword with a silver star on a golden star-shaped guard decorated with a red ribbon. The hilt is covered in red clothes and cream-colored wool at the end and in between the holders.
Background
A novice rider who works as an apprentice santa appearing in the City of Water, El Te Una.
Racing through the snowy sky with the Fire Wyvern Rathalos, giving the behaved children with a lot of present is her job.
Being an apprentice, she is not yet allowed to ride the flying Anteka Sled yet.
She dreams to be a great santa like her santa mentor, Hilda.
Tomboy Princess Mary[]
[Tomboy Princess] is an alternate form of Mary, created in collaboration with a mobile game Dragon Quest of the Stars. Her costume imitates Alena from Dragon Quest IV.
Appearance
As [Tomboy Princess], she wears the same outfit as Alena, being a yellow, one-piece dress, a black belt with shield-shaped buckle, and a black, skin-tight pants. She wears a dark blue, pointed hat, a cape of the same color, a pair of green jewel earrings, and orange gloves and boots. Her hair also curls at the end, reminiscent of Alena's hair style.
As [Tomboy Princess], she wields the Fire Claws, which are also one of Alena usable weapons. In the game, the Fire Claws are considered as Dual Blades.
Background
A rider belonged to the Central City, Laqua, who accompanies the player as a partner in their mission.
With the equipments of another world's heroes given to her by Cyril, she gains the power of "Tomboy Princess, Alena".
The unprecendent tomboyness of the princess seems to have slightly effected Mary's personality, now she is even more energetic than ever.
The weapon she wielded is [Fire Claws]. A pair of clawed gloves made from metal called Mithril that emits flame in response to the wielder's "Qi"
Valstrax Armor Mary[]
[Valstrax Armor] is an alternate form of Mary, created in a collaboration with Monster Hunter Rise.

- It is revealed through the profile of Mary [Dread Dragon Sword] that, her long sword is the Tomb Saber, a long sword made from Dreadking Rathalos materials, and the Deviljho long sword she temporarily used was the Reaver "Cruelty".
- Unlike other ★4 characters, all variant characters from Dragon Quest collaboration uses the same weapon as the ★5 version instead of a ★4 characters' standard weapons.
- Despite being translated as "Valstrax Armor Mary", "Crimson Glow Armor Mary" actually fits better.
- The reason for this is because in Monster Hunter Rise, Crimson Glow Valstrax's armor, the Valstrax Armor (MHRise), is being translated as such.
- The armor name in Japanese is "赫耀シリーズ" (Crimson Glow Armor). While the English version is "Valstrax Armor", the same name as the normal Valstrax's armor in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.
