Aiden (Japanese エイデン), also known as the Ace Cadet (Japanese 筆頭ルーキー) or Excitable A-Lister (Japanese 陽気な推薦組), is the youngest member of the Ace Hunters and partner of the Serious Handler. Like her, he is currently a part of the Fifth Fleet of the Research Commission.

Personality[]

At first glance, Aiden has what could easily be called a "nervous or excitable personality", but he displays keen insight and quick-witted practically.[3][4] Despite his appearance, he is an avid reader that has read various notes from people such as the Analytics Director and Third Fleet Master to expand his knowledge.[5] Aiden easily gets carried away and is hopeless with directions, but his liveliness has saved the lives of many people.[6] While he may look young, Aiden has a ton of experience due to his days with the Ace Hunters back in the Old World.[7]

Background[]

Before the Games[]

When Aiden was seven, he lost his parents when his village was overrun by monsters. He would cope with his fear of monsters by making jokes of their names. One day, Aiden would come across Julius as he was searching for Velociprey. Julius would reveal to the village and Aiden that a Lunastra was crossing to the New World and their village was in its path. The villagers would refuse to leave for safety as they thought Julius was lying. Aiden would go with Julius to see if the Lunastra was truly heading for their village. After seeing the Lunastra, Aiden would convince Julius to fight it instead of evacuating the village. Together Aiden, Nadia, Julius, Mae, Nox and Ravi would fight the Lunastra to defend the village. The following day they set up a memorial for Ravi and Mae, both fell during the defense. As Julius and Nadia leave Aiden would claims that there are bigger threats in the world and that he should be an Ace Hunter if he is to stop them, Julius then agrees and takes him as his cadet.

4th generation[]

Aiden was one of the few hunters to help the player fight off the Rusted Kushala Daora during the final village quest in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

5th Generation[]

One of the first hunters to volunteer to join the Fifth Fleet for the expedition to the New World, Aiden was brought aboard by the Research Commission to follow Zorah Magdaros with the rest of the fleet to discover the answer behind the Elder Crossing. Before joining the Research Commission's expedition to the New World, he had all sorts of special assignments in the Old World with the Ace Hunters, which provides him with more experience than most other hunters in the commission, but past mistakes from his time with the Ace Hunters still haunt him to this day.[8] As a novice with the Ace Hunters, he exposed his team to many dangers and was nearly killed due to his negligence.[9] His past mistakes now motivate him to better himself and further grow in the New World with the commission, so he doesn't endanger the lives of his new team.[10] His mentor, Julius, is also another thing that motivates him to improve as a hunter.

Aiden helps the player on the Fatalis special assignment before unlocking multiplayer for it.
