I've always believed it'd be a nice change of pace to have individual weapons in each class to deal the opposite type of damage (Slash becomes impact and vice-versa, doesn't affect bowguns or bows because they already have means of both cutting and KO-ing). Take the gigas club for example, an uragaan SnS that is quite obviously not a sword by its appearance, would deal impact damage and be capable of knocking out monsters. The dobobelk switch axe could be another one, since changing to its 'sword' form reveals a morning star rather than a blade, and would overall make it more versatile in that it could deal both cutting and impact damage (naturally a damage nerf would take place for balancing). An axe that handles like a hammer, a lance for precision bludgeoning, dual swords that could be the 'fist' weapons everyone seems so damned determined to get, the list goes on. I'm not saying every weapon class should get a 50/50 split of impact and cutting weapons, just a couple individuals out of each would suffice in spicing things up. 75.70.4.192 07:09, January 11, 2012 (UTC)

To be honest, I personally don't think this is a bad idea.

I can sympathise with the feeling of 'What the crap? This isn't a sword! It's a sodding cats paw on a stick!' Or other strange weapon varieties to that effect. Many a time I've been confused when making a weapon that LOOKED like an Axe, had a name that was AXE-y (Such as '### *cleaver*' and so on.) and yet, it's a HAMMER... The logic, it burns!
