Giaorugu is a member of the Brute Wyvern class, like its relative the Abiorugu. It may share the same superfamily as Deviljho known as Violent Wyverns. Interestingly some scientists believe that Giaorugu is the ancestor species to Abiorugu.
So far these large theropods have only been seen inhabiting the frozen wasteland that is the Polar Sea. These creatures have to be extremely tough in order to survive here where food is scarce.
Giaorugu are powerful top predators and are at the top of the food chain. These beasts will readily prey on Giaprey, Poka, Pokara, Fish, and Pokaradon. However when confronting a Pokaradon, caution must be taken as the large sea mammal is a dangerous and powerful creature. Besides competing with other members of their own kind, Giaorugu must also compete with Anorupatisu, the barb-nosed Flying Wyvern can pose a serious threat to a Giaorugu.
Giaorugu share many characteristics with their Abiorugu cousins such as, back-plates, upward fangs, bladed tail, projectile tail spikes, and etc. But there are some aesthetic differences between the two creatures. While Abiorugu have two bony plates on their skulls, the Giaorugu have one solid crest atop their heads. The snout, fangs, and lower jaw spikes of the Giaorugu are also larger and more pronounced. They are even capable of cartwheeling their bodies just like their relatives the Uragaan. Giaorugu utilize powerful ice attacks such as their deadly ice beams and are even able to encase their bladed tails in ice when slamming them into the ground. How they do this is a mystery to scientists, yet what they do know is that when doing this behavior it forms a large blade of ice double the length of the theropod's own blade tail. This deadly weapon is capable of slicing through a Pokaradon's thick blubber like a knife through butter. As if these creatures weren't deadly enough, the fangs they wield are capable of injecting a type of chemical/venom that is capable of freezing the blood of their prey when bitten. Giaorugu also have acidic saliva just like Deviljho. Another unique characteristic of these creatures is that if cut their blood freezes with air contact.
Due to the harsh conditions and the scarcity of food in the Polar Sea, these large theropods are fiercely territorial. They will attack anything they perceive as a threat or possible prey.
