The Guardians (Japanese ガーディアンズ) are a group of guards in the Monster Hunter universe. They are a type of Guild Knight.
Their Job[]
Guardians keep law and order in certain cities while also protecting the citizens from potential emergency situations. Most of these emergency situations involve guiding civilians to safe places and protecting them from incoming danger. The Guardians also act as security for powerful people like His Immenseness. They will also stop any person without any permit, including low ranking hunters. The two known cities to have Guardians are Minegarde and Dundorma, and they may also be sent to smaller villages, like Kokoto, if needed.
A Guardian's Uniform[]
The Guardians' uniform is known as the Guardian armor, a full plate armor with a blue or red tabard. The Guardians' primary weapon is the Lance, usually some type of Guardian Lance or Iron Lance.
The Risk[]
When Elder Dragons or Elder Dragon-Level Monsters invade a town, they are immediately sent into the frontlines to help fight off the threat. This is quite risky due to some Guardians losing their lives in the middle of the battle.
Captains[]
Captains (Japanese 隊長) are the highest-ranked Guardians. They keep structure within the Guardians, while also helping recruit new members. There can only be two captains at a time, which both specialize in a different tasks. One specializes in strength, while the other specializes in giving commands. The captains work under superiors, such as His Immenseness.
