Kamu Orugaron is a wolf-like Fanged Beast who is the male counterpart of Nono Orugaron. Some lone Kamu Orugaron have changed dramatically after losing their mate and moving to the Volcano. These rare individuals are known as Midogaron.
The Kamu, and indeed, Nono Orugaron, are a one of a kind Pelagus. Its evolutionary patterns shows its evolved differently from regular Pelagus, as its body is wolf shaped. Its maw bares the traditional canine teeth set, as well as those of sabre toothed canines, suggesting that when feeding, it sheers off chunks of meat to avoid breaking the sabres.

Its behaviour is also very dog like, as it pants and hangs its tongue out much like a dog, and also howls like a wolf. It would appear that the Kamu has a highly developed set of lungs, as it can fire a wind blast similar to the Kushala Daora. This powerful set of lungs may be the reason why hunters are sent flying backwards as it howls. This howl can also amplify its partner's attack, as well as its own. Its howl alone is a very serious threat to hunters.

The Kamu's second interesting ability is that its mohawk at first glance may seem to be simple spiked up hairs going along its back. In reality, these hairs are razor sharp and can be ejected from the Kamu's back via a strong series of muscles that line its spinal cord in which the spines are seated. In order for this to be aimed properly the Kamu must resort to flipping over the prey and firing its spikes out when its back is facing the enemy. This shows that Kamu has a great deal of agility to spare, so much so that when the Kamu performs a wind blast, hints of red energy emit from its mouth.

Kamu Orugaron has been seen inhabiting the Swamp and Tower.
The Kamu and Nono Orugaron are a rare species living only in the near stable environment of the swamp, where most of its competitors are slower and more docile. As the Kamu's colouration is black, it blends quite easily into the cave systems, and indeed with the floor, which may fool any Wyverns or Elder Dragons flying overhead. Of course, living in this habitat has given it a certain resilience to poison, but not in high concentrations (such as those found only in hunter weapons or throwing knives). Despite these factors, it is very outgoing along with its partner the Nono Orugaron, as most likely its brain operates on the idea that there is "strength in numbers".

It really does not have huge competition because the Gravios that can be found here mostly eat minerals. Only Gypceros with their poison, and the rare Teostra or Chameleos with their power would be a threat.

The Kama Orugaron utilize serveral adaptations to bring down prey and fight off competition. Kama Orugaron can fire a wind blast, much like winged wyverns, though it is still unclear on how they can use this. It is speculated that it has highly developed and strong pair of lungs to use the wind blast and its roar. Another way to kill prey is to fire their sharp hair spikes at another monster or even a hunter, causing severe injury, if not death, to the animal. Jumping on top of a smaller, weaker prey item would give this beast an edge, delivering a fatal neck bite. Finally, with a 180 degrees bite, a combo forward lunge and a roar that only makes it stronger, this monster is a force to be reckoned with. Also its mate, Nono Orugaron, appears to share the same moves, and they simultaneously attack a target, making for an instant dinner, or a hunters worst nightmare.

Taxonomy

Kamu Orugaron is a wolf-like Fanged Beast who is the male counterpart of Nono Orugaron. Some lone Kamu Orugaron have changed dramatically after losing their mate and moving to the Volcano. These rare individuals are known as Midogaron.

Habitat Range

Kamu Orugaron has been seen inhabiting the Swamp and Tower.

Ecological Niche

Kamu Orugaron is a top predator known to feed on prey such as Bullfango, Aptonoth, and Mosswine. Kamu Orugaron have to compete with large predators such as Abiorugu, Khezu, Akura Jebia, and rare Baruragaru. In the Tower, it competes with Silver Rathalos, Gold Rathian, Lucent Nargacuga, along with the two rare Piscine Wyverns Aruganosu and Goruganosu. There have also been reports of Kamu Orugaron being attacked by their rare yet, powerful mutation Midogaron.

Biological Adaptations

Unlike Nono Orugaron, Kamu Orugaron is a heavy hitter that takes advantage of his strength. On his mane is razor sharp spike-like quills used for attacking foes and protecting from aerial attacks. Kamu Orugaron's lungs are very powerful, much like Tigrex, allowing him to produce his well-known howl. The howl is a tool used for communication between the Kamu Orugaron and Nono Orugaron, however, it can also be an effective weapon. At close range, this howl can easily effect shake the brain of a victim or send a foe flying backwards. Kamu Orugaron can even fire a wind-like blast at foes, like Kushala Daora, from a distance. Though this isn't really known, Kamu Orugaron have an underdeveloped ice sac. Some older individuals have shown that they could use ice to form frozen armor on their legs and fire icy spikes from their back. In its mouth are two large fangs strong enough to break the armor plating of some armor.

Some less common individuals, possibly older males, have more muscle mass, blue eyes, dark red claws, red nose, more white colored hair and a larger Mohawk. These strong Kamu Orugaron are known to chain strong attacks to confuse and overpower prey and predators.

Behaviour

Kamu Orugaron are highly aggressive beasts, along with the Nono Orugaron. While young, Kamu Orugaron are solitary but when fully grown they work together with Nono Orugaron. Since these monsters need to constantly make a kill daily, they can affect the species in the ecosystem around them.
