Kyle (Japanese: カイル) is a young Hunter in pursuit of the legendary Rathalos. He distrusts the way Riders live alongside monsters, and he is determined to capture Razewing Ratha. Since the Protagonist is protecting a monster with catastrophic power, he views them as an enemy. However, after traveling with the Protagonist and Ena, he becomes a close ally in their quest to uncover the secrets behind Wings of Ruin. His Palico is Tsukino and his weapon of choice is a bow.
Personality[]
Kyle is straightforward and has a strong sense of justice. He takes pride in his ability as a hunter, and has a tendency to be initially hard-headed in his view regarding things foreign to his perspective. Being initially dismissive to rider culture due to how it clashed with his hunter centric outlook. He viewed monsters as being dangerous and in the case of Rathalos, as pests. Lending to his struggle to understand Kinship and the idea that riders could actually bond with their monsties.
However, he is willing to try to understand different views and demonstrates interest in learning from others, as seen in his comments towards Wyverians while in Rutoh Village. He takes to heart the advice of others and is willing to trust his allies bonds and capabilities.
He cares for his friends and loved ones, and became more antagonistic as a result of his father being injured by Guardian Ratha. He can hold a grudge towards others, though he is not above letting them go either, as seen after defeating the Oltura, he's showing joy at being given the opportunity to ride a Rathalos while in Mahana Village.
Kyle commonly tries to present himself in a very serious and focused manner, continuously trying to play off events or interactions that get too friendly or nonprofessional, and getting flustered as a result, much to the amusement of Tsukino. He dislikes being referred to as a kid, which results in him getting annoyed with characters like Reverto, who will commonly do so.
Background[]
He is the youngest of five brothers, and seemingly comes from a family of skilled hunters. While Tsukino is not his initial Palico, the two share a strong bond.
Appearance[]
Kyle is a young boy with spiky blonde hair and blue eyes. Like most hunters, he's equipped with a cage containing Scouting flies. He wears armor of original design that mostly consists of blue, brown, and interior yellow with brown straps and a brown arm guard making it bear resemblance to Gunner class armor.
Equipment[]
He wields a bow.
As Shown during CAPCOM presatation during E3 2021 he eventually uses a Rex Bow, as well as many other bows.
Trivia[]
In the pre-launch stream, it was stated that Kyle was designed as a character meant to be a Hunter whose differing viewpoint conflicted with that of Riders.
