When fighting the Lagiacrus, you might notice it behaves similiarly to the Royal Ludroth. You can use this to your advantage by copying the tactics need to fight the Royal Ludroth. The only obvious difference to that the Lagiacrus can spit balls of lightning forward for as far as he wants, he doesn't charge around spitting lightning either, and he can surround himself with energy like that green guy from Street Fighter.

If your a bit of a greenhorn (newbie) heres some helpful TIPS (not a guide) to fighting it.

This guide however, is clearly intended with the fact that you know how to fight a Royal Ludroth (After all, how can you fight a Lagiacrus if you didn't fight Royal Ludroth?)

1) [On Land/Blademaster Only] Always attack his tail.

If you notice, everytime he begins an attack, he always turns towards you and pauses for a tiny bit (Unless he is charging around or backing up). When you see him turning, run around him and attack his tail (around or behind his hind legs and back) When he turns towards you again, roll to your side and resume attacking. The tail is where the armor is weaker, and your safe from most of his attacks unless you aren't paying attention, or hitting his side instead of his tail. The only time your not safe is when he swings his tail around, and that doesn't incur a lot of damage.

2) [Blademaster Only] About Items

Try to only use your whetstone when you believe you have enough time to do it. A good way to do that is when Lagiacrus is paying attention to Cha Cha or your teammate. I've seen too many people attempt to sharpen their weapons and get killed by the lightning ball of doom. Another tactic is to run out of the area and use your items before running back into the fray. It's not cowardly, and the monster should still be there when you come back.

3) [In the Sea] Lagiacrus Special Lightning Force Field that looks like the green guy's shock attack from Street Fighter

You'll notice that the Lagiacrus has a glowing back. You'll also notice that when you try to attack it, sometimes you'll get a shocking experience from it's body-wide lightning field that it will use when it realizes your attacking it. Thats your cue to either A) Heal/Sharpen/Prep Evil weapon of mass destruction. B) Shoot it with your bowgun. It might be useful to pop some Stormsender Berries to nullify the shock status and boost your resistance to the lightning element.
