I'm Garrett and I'm a community manager here at Fandom. The Gaming community team at Fandom would like to reward users like you who have really made extraordinary contributions to our platform. To do that I'll need to email you directly to talk details. Is it ok with you if we contact you at the email address you have listed on file for your account?
The Monster comparison count on some Monster Hunter Games is incorrect.
For example on the MHFU Monsters page, it says Monster Hunter Freedom 2 had 72 total monsters, while the Monsters page of MH3 will say it had 71.
This is an issue with most of the MH games Monster pages, presumably due to some people not counting variants such as Furious Rajang or Savage Deviljho.
The pages are locked so I can't repair these myself, so I thought I'd notify an administrator myself.
Hello, I'm The Embraced One or TEO, and I'm the Fandom Wiki Manager for the Monster Hunter Wiki as well as an admin on Sekiro and the Hollow Knight Wikis in my free time. I'm here to act as a liaison between you and Fandom Staff and help you and your community. If you ever have any questions or issues related to the Wiki, its features (editing, templates, layouts, etc.), or anything else, feel free to reach out to me on my message wall and I will be happy to help out!
I'm here to let you know that Fandom plans to run a test here starting this week. It aims at improving the search enginge ranking for our communities. Yours and a few other communities have been selected for this test.
Some details: We will be automatically redirecting anonymous users who land on file pages to the first article page that the file is used on. Our hope is that this will help anonymous users (who are usually clueless about wikis) find what they're looking for more easily. During the test, we'll measure whether this has a postive impact on search enginge rankings.
Logged-in users will see absolutely no change, so you may not notice anything of this test - but we figured it's best to let you know, in case anonymous users reach out to you with questions.
Hey, just wanted to ask if we have an actual rule for the wiki that requires us to make monster articles on the wiki strictly written in singular or plural. This Chimera-gui keeps rolling back the Leshen article to his version while using a "singular only pls" argument for it. Just wanted to have some clarification on that. Cheers lad.
So I have noticed that this user has changed some frontier stuff that was already correct info (from what I see, mostly the peerless monsters) such as Blinking Nargacuga (which you put as fleeting??) When another member came into our discord JUST to get the correct info on monsters so that people weren't misinformed about these things. But then it was changed BACK to incorrect info, this wiki has a fair amount of wrong info and this is only contributing to the problem.
I've noticed a discrepancy that some of MHW articles are available to edit, but some are not. I'm wondering if there's a reason behind this, because I want to continue editing. I've already edited a few of the NPC and monster pages and have already written up some more for when they're unlocked.
They are still incomplete and there are still things to be changed. I'm quite excited to tackle the Weapons' pages next, so I would love it if they can be unlocked. I think Drake512 hit the same wall last time as well. MHXX and MHGen main pages too if possible. Not sure how you guys decide when to unlock those pages though. But I just thought that the chances of those pages being vandalized is quite low now that the vast majority of the attention are focused on World. Would be great if people can update those pages.
I've just finished editing the MHST Weapon lists. I just wanted to let you know that I'm ready to move onto editing the individual pages, but it requires you to unlock the aforementioned pages (see my above reply). I'm just worried you might have passed by my initial reply accidentally (the notifications only tell you the last person to reply right?). So I just wanted to let you know just in case, and it's not meant to pressure you. I'll probably start working on the templates and individual pages a few days later though.
The only one I'm unsure about is the Bone Horn. In order to balance out the space, the Total Upgrade Cost is listed horizontally instead. Aesthetic-wise, it's a bit weird. But if I were to list it vertically, there would be too much empty space on one side. If you want me to change it, please let me know. I tried my best to remain consistent with the MHST armor template and weapon templates from other MH games. I used Accursed Wail as a reference. I've also taken inspiration from the MHST Great Sword template.
Btw, do you think can move these two pages as well? Their in-game names actually lack the "a" letter (due to character limits). If we are to follow the in-game names, then I think they can be moved.
Location navbox updated, though some links are lacking a page.
Noticed the Magia Charm (MHST) and Sonic Glass (MHST) have issues with their attack sections (clearly showing incorrect numbers), looks like a template issue that needs to be checked over.
Yeah. That's because I updated the template, but haven't updated those pages yet. I'm going to double check the info on all the HH pages (adding total materials + cost while at it) and fix potential problems/mistakes. Also, thank you for moving the weapon pages~
Hello, I'm back. Alongside those previous four links, MHST:_Monstie_Skills and MHST:_Skills are also locked. It would be great if you can unlock them. I am going to purchase the official guide for Stories soon to finish the rest.
Thanks! I always make sure the info is correct by comparing it to the game manually. So those female armor pages were left blank because I was focusing on the male armors first. I should be able to go back and complete them after finishing up the Japanese exclusive armor sets.
