The Military Force (Japanese 軍隊) are special armies that can be found within the World of Monster Hunter.
Who Owns A Military Force?[]
People of royalty, such as the Spoiled Princess, and high ranking officers, such as the Young Shogun, are known to control units of armed soldiers.
Where Can Some Military Forces Be Found?[]
There are few different military factions in the world of Monster Hunter, each independent from the other. Some places with these factions include Minegarde Town, Dundorma, Loc Lac City, and Mezeporta. Even some small towns and villages have some kind of military in them for protection due to the lack of hunters.
Relationship with Hunters and Hunter's Guild[]
The military rarely ever work together with the Hunter's Guild, and its hunters, unless it is necessary or if they are needed for a certain situation. For example, some military forces are known to make requests for poisonous weapons made from deadly monsters, such as Gypceros and Great Wroggi, to the Hunter's Guild. Some military forces also send out requests for hunters to capture or slay a monster that is blocking a marching route. Though they are well-trained, the military is not be the best at attacking monsters. However, the military will try their best to protect civilians from any potential monsters within the area, while hunters try to eliminate the threat. The military is also known for leading giant monsters, like Akantor and Keoaruboru, into secluded areas in order for hunters to finish off the cornered beast.
Though most military forces are willing to accept help from the Hunter's Guild, some view it and hunters as "unorganized weaklings". Some military forces are known to work side by side with hunters on a daily basis.
Is A Military Force Needed For Everyone?[]
Not all places need the military or hunters to protect them. Some villages actually have their own groups to handle raids from smaller monsters like Velociprey, though in most cases someone is still injured after the initial attack. These small groups are viewed as threats to the Guild, so hunters are told to try to avoid them. The Hunter's Guild says "It is best for the civilians to send out requests for help during situations like this."
