The Oilwell Basin is a location first introduced in Monster Hunter Wilds.
The Oilwell Basin is a large cavernous volcanic ecosystem filled with vast caves, tar pits, oil lakes and large thermal vents spewing smoke and other gases. The Azuz tribe live in this place, turning its heat energy into a power source for the Everforge to make weapons and also to mine for minerals. Many man-made pipes and ancient machines can be found in this area too.
The Everforge can be activated by the locals and exudes intense flames and heat, temporarily transforming the oilwell basin into a magma-filled and fiery volcanic landscape; this man-made Inclemency is called the Firespring.
