Monster Hunter Wiki

Omega Planetes is a large monster of the unknown category, first introduced in Monster Hunter Wilds. It is part of a collaboration with Final Fantasy XIV.

Physiology[]

Omega Planetes is a quadrupedal beetle-like robot made from a dark metal with silver detailing. Its "eye" is a horizontal yellow/orange visor. Omega Planetes possesses thrusters that glow white when in use.

Behavior and Abilities[]

Omega Planetes can use its thrusters to hover in place for a short while, as well as move at high speeds. It can fire missiles, Mustard Bombs that leave a patch of damaging flame, and summon Rocket Punches. It can produce a energy beam from its visor called the Atomic Ray, and Wave Cannons allow it to fire a volley of beams from its sides as well. Being made of metal, it is highly durable. When it detects a suitable threat, it enters Pantokrator mode, attacking with extreme force and ferocity unless its legs are repeatedly wounded and the wounds destroyed.

It can manifest a Nerscylla clone to use for its Delta Attack, an incredibly devastating laser weapon that can only be survived through the use of a specialized shielding device, and generates smaller Omega Micros drones that relentlessly seek out targets.

It is self-aware and intelligent, and capable of speech (albeit uninterested in communicating with what it perceives as lower life-forms). Like the original Omega, it is programmed to seek out strong foes, such as Jin Dahaad, to further its evolution protocols. Because of this, the Omega Planetes are seen as a huge threat to the Forbidden Lands, and hunters will be sent to hunt them down.

In-Game Description[]

Monster Hunter Wilds
An Omega frame that has crossed the inter-dimensional rift and descended on the Forbidden Lands in its search for more powerful lifeforms and planets to invade. Named Omega Planetes to distinguish it from other Omega frames, it plans to study this world's lifeforms, primarily the monsters of the Forbidden Lands, in order to evolve and subjugate everything in its path.

Notes[]

General Notes

  • Omega Planetes was added in Monster Hunter Wilds's third title update on September 29, 2025.
  • Omega Planetes is the second monster from Final Fantasy XIV to appear in Monster Hunter, and the first robot monster in the series.
  • It shares multiple raid mechanics also used by Behemoth.
    • Its health is always set at the full multiplayer level, highly encouraging the use of either Support Hunters or multiplayer to slay it. It moves areas when health thresholds are met.
    • Its head can be attacked to gain its enmity, allowing other hunters to focus on its more vulnerable legs. This is especially useful for dealing with MRV Missile, which targets all hunters unless a hunter has enmity, in which case it will only target them. However, the HP Penalty status will not wear off if the hunter has Omega Planetes's enmity.
    • Its Delta Attack is a certain cart attack unless a shield is created to block it. Unlike Behemoth, this attack is only done once during the entire hunt and requires a Nerscylla Clone to be defeated to create the shield instead of defending destructible comets. If the Nerscylla Clone is not defeated, its attack and defense increases.
  • Its ramming attack and weak stomp can be Power Clashed.
  • Breaking Omega Planetes's legs, in addition to a lengthy knockdown, drops special slinger ammo that creates a shield when fired.
  • Destroying wounds on Omega Planetes's head creates a shield. Destroying wounds on its legs 3 times while it is in Pantokrator mode will force it out of the mode.
  • Omega Planetes will regenerate all wounds when it enters Pantokrator mode.
  • Omega Planetes can be carved 6 times.
  • Omega Planetes, like Behemoth, has an event-exclusive Tempered version with unique abilities:
    • It uses stronger attacks earlier in the fight, and many of its attacks come out faster or are doubled up.
    • It can use a close-range ice blast, and its strong stomp causes slight Frostblight buildup.
    • Its stomping rampage during Pantokrator mode causes tremors.
    • It can regenerate wounds if they are not destroyed quickly enough.
    • Though it has the icon and iridescent sheen of a Tempered monster, it does not have Tempered scars.
