Hammer Guide
As is suggested blocking weapons are very helpful with Plesioth, unfortunatly hammers are too awesome to block. So here are a few pointers of pounding the shark wyvern to sushi. First is to stay either infront or under the legs. Being to the side on Plesioth never helps anyone. His jets are easy enough to dodge when in front and will completely miss by the legs. Being undre the legs has a world of pain if not done correctly. Plesioth has a tendency to hip-check when hunters are close. To avoid the hip-check you have one option, ROLL. Roll towards Plesioth. It sonds crazy but if you get on the other side of him before he can move it will miss. Then when he moves back into posistion combo his feet. I ALWAYS bring a good sharpness hammer. I prefer to use a lightning hammer. It is hard to get ahold of hammers with an element trust me I know, but the khezue hammer, and Crytal Nova both work well on Plesioth. upgrade your HBG and put on that power barrel for added damage you can bring this ammos: higly recommended:
pierce 1 2 3 (as long as your weapon permits it) thundershot (if possible) crag shot 1 2 3 (very important, again if your weapon permits it) normal 1 2 3 (1 in case you run out of ammo)
when plesioth is at land: here's the trick, stay in medium range - this would make plesioth shoot its water beam, and that is the time you shoot your pierce shots while facing him directed towards its mouth...(it would be very strong against him im telling you...)
JUST use the crosshair and HOLD R (DONT ZOOM) while your stationary and aim with the d-pad... roll after hitting, if you don't have speedfire wait for it to attack before you reload (using its attack's interval)
when plesioth is in the water stay close to the water and gun him away...crag shots if you want to anger him and pull him out there...
the best thing that may happen when plesioth is angry and you are in medium range? WATER BEAMS... and its up to you to bury that shot, mr.pierce...
FOR LIGHTBOWGUN USERS (use the grenade launcher) crag shot its head while on land...due to the rapid fire effect of the grenade launcher the crag shots would be in multiple... meaning chances of knocking him out (hammer effect) is very high...
FOR BOW USERS (sonic bow)

Natsirk's ranged strategy can make Plesioth ridiculously easy. Yes, if you are within close to medium range from Plesioth, Plesioth will mostly likely and continually shoot water beams. Just dodge and counter-fire to its head. Plesioth can tail swipe and hip-check all he wants, but you will be safe distance spamming bullets at him.

Plesioth Head Locking Guide
It is possible to Head Lock (Get monster to flinch constantly due to severe, repeated damage to head) Plesioth in both Village and Guild Quests, not G-Rank, by using a combination of Feyline Heroics, Adrenaline +2, and either Akantor Bow or Glorious Victory.
This is incredibly useful should you ever need to farm plesioth for materials, especially lobstershells. It also makes for an easy way to help your friends get decent armor at the start of the game.
Anyways, start the quest, bring large barrel bombs, 10 small barrel bombs, 5 small barrel bombs+, coatings of course, Mega Demondrug, and a flute if necessary. Bomb yourself with barrel bombs until you get within 3 bars of health remaining. If done properly your bows damage should be above 600. Eat a mega demondrug and rations if necessary.
Now head off to fight some plesioth, remember they will only wander in areas with an ocean view; they should be easy to spot as they're so large. Play your flute to alert the beast. Then using sonic bombs provided by the guild, (see supply box), stun the creature and force it out of the water. You want the plesioth on land as quickly as possible so its easier to hit, and you dont want to risk getting hit by a water beam. Once land bound, make surev you've got power coatings (poison can be used as a substitute) and fire a fully charged shot at the Plesioth's head right after he fires his water beam. If your bow uses rapid or pierce lvl 3 or 4 you should be fine. If all goes well the creature will flinch and shake itself off. Simply repeat with more charged shots and hopefully it will die before your stamina runs dry.

Plessy.. GOD I hate him... But I did kill quite a few!!! So, let's get started.
First thing you need to do is OBTAIN Something with Water Resistance and a Thunder Weapon (The Eager Cleaver or my personal favorite, the Devil Slicer (FWT)...)
Next, get some defense because you'll need every point fighting this Water Pest.
Now, Don't concern yourself with Paint, because Plessy only goes in two spots. Now, let the games begin.
If you're going Solo, then bring a frog and some SONICS!!! Get to Plessy undetected and then Fish. This will get him LEAP FROM THE WATER!!!! If you get detected though, Then Use the SONIC and know he will get pissed.
If you read my guide on how to kill Ceph, this is a bigger version of Ceph with a few notable differences.
1. It will spit water at you. If this happens, dodge and do triangle, triangle, circle+triangle. (be careful of tailwhip)
2. The Shoulder Block/Hipcheck WILL KILL YOU if Plessy thinks you're too close.*
3. The tail whip is harder to dodge try to roll towards him or under his legs then run. If you he will give you the Wet Shoulder and you WILL Die. Hit Hard and Hit Quick.
The Retreating slash on the legs is wise, but at the same time, the Shoulder Block has range so if the shoulder miss, anything else will hit. Plessy has a tendency to run BACK INTO THE WATER. Get him back out and repeat or you can look where he runs back and put a pit trap there, it'll give you a few extra shots on the belly. Limping will show that in 3 to 5 more GOOD hits, Plessy will meet the GR and you can claim Cash and Prizes.

MHFU Plesioth
The Plesioths on MHFU are not that different than the ones on previous games. Plessy has a new attack on this game, though. While on land, he will jump into an upright stance. While in this stance, he will shoot a horizontal jet of water in front of him that will curve in an arc-like pattern.

G Rank Plessies are not fun to deal with. Here is how to fight it.
Felyne Kitchen:

Comrade:
- Brave (Fighting) / Peaceful (Healing/Boosting)
- Bomb Lover
- Thunder, Fire, Dragon Element
- High Defence
Go about how to fight him as you would for any other Plessy, but keep in mind he has a new attack, as mentioned above. Bring a pitfall and a shock trap just as you should normally do. When in a pitfall trap, all damage done to Plessy is doubled, so bring bring bombs and materials to make more pitfalls.
