Ratha (Japanese レウス ) is the Protagonist's Monstie in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. A Rathalos born with small wings given to the Protagonist as an Egg by the mysterious wyverian, Ena. In lore, Ratha is a special Rathalos that is known as the Wings of Ruin where a beat of it wings can bring forth waves of destruction and burn the world.
Behavior[]
Like Ratha from the first game, Razewing Ratha is notably way less aggressive than a normal Rathalos and displays a curious and loyal personality upon meeting the Protagonist. However, Ratha displays a hostile nature fitting of his kind whenever he's under the influence of the Wings of Ruin.
Background[]
While the exact origins of Ratha is unknown, his egg was entrusted to Ena by Red's Monstie, Guardian Ratha. Eventually, his egg was given to the Protagonist on his/her quest to become a Rider while also discovering adventures and task of his/her grandfather Red.
It is eventually revealed that the Wings of Ruin that is said to bring calamity to the world is actually the Elder Dragon Oltura, and Ratha is actually a special Rathalos that is bestowed with a power in order to counter Oltura.
Appearance[]
Ratha is relatively smaller than most of his kind, but larger than Ratha from MHST. His most distinct feature are his small wings which are also notably black and blue. Upon saving the Protagonist, Ratha's wing open and takes on appearance that looks like the rest of his kind, but with unique patterns between the fold of his wings.
When under the influence of the Wings of Ruin, Ratha's entire body becomes black, the markings under his belly, his mouth, and eyes glow red, and his wings take on a more sinister purple appearance that resembles the ignited wings of a Valstrax.

- Razewing Ratha is a Power type monster.
- When sparring against him, he will often use Venom Strike and Savage Fireball.
- After some turns, Razewing Ratha will start acting twice in one turn. Later, he acts thrice in one turn.
- When sparring against him, he will often use Venom Strike and Savage Fireball.
- Razewing Ratha is weak to Thunder rather than Dragon like its regular specimens.
- He is completely immune to all status effects and debuffs when sparring against him.
- Razewing Ratha has 3 different Kinship Skills:
- Ground Flare for when his Wings of Ruin first awaken, but hasn’t had his wings healed yet,
- Sky-High Dive for when his wings are healed (the skill’s animation is somewhat different compared to Rathalos, Azure Rathalos, etc),
- Sky-High Dive for sparring against his Wings of Ruin form (guaranteed to deal 999 damage).
- Razewing Ratha's frenzied state, resembles Ratha MHST when it was infected by the Black Blight.
- Razewing Ratha's purpose to stop Oltura, who is said to bring imbalance to the world's ecosystem, makes him similar to the Nergigante who are also considered a regulatory element of the ecosystem against Elder Dragons.
- Despite not having an actual armor set, Razewing Ratha does have a layered armor set.
