A Rider (Japanese ライダー) is a person who rides on monsters and bonds with them.

Where Do Riders Come From?
Since ancient times, there have been villages that have their own independent development from the rest of society. The people of these villages have learnt how to live side by side with monsters by using a hidden power, the Kinship Stones, to communicate with the towering behemoths. The Kinship Stones allow them to communicate with the monsters and live peacefully with them, unlike the hunters. Due to the idea of living in harmony with monsters being so strange, the village is known to try to keep its existence secret.
Relationship with Outside World
Riders usually don't get along with hunters too well. Though a few are aware of them, most hunters don't even know that riders exist. The same goes for the Hunter's Guild.
Rider villages maintain such a degree of secrecy that they may not even realize there are other Rider villages.
Requests
Since they can't take requests from the Hunter's Guild, riders usually take requests directly from the inhabitants of a village. These requests can vary from gathering, foraging, searching for lost items, etc.
