In-Game Information[]
"The Rustrazor Ceanataur uses its huge pincers and the shell on its back to attack any assailants. From its Gravios shell it shoots jets of water that drill into the ground, and its Glavenus-shaped pincers can shear through steel. This two-sided nature makes it a force to be reckoned with, and earned it the name "Rustrazor"."
Taxonomy[]
- Order: Decapoda
- Infraorder: Anomura
- Superfamily: Sickle Crab
- Family: Ceanataur
A Deviant of Shogun Ceanataur that sharpens its claws with a Glavenus's skull, Rustrazor Ceanataur is a rarely seen individual. While it was still a Ceanataur, it wasn't able to develop a poison gland, so it had to develop new behavior in order to survive to adulthood.
Habitat Range[]
Within the Old World, Rustrazor Ceanataur can be found inhabiting the Volcano, Ruined Ridge and Marshlands.
Ecological Niche[]
Shogun Ceanataur are somewhat high in the food chain. Very little is powerful enough to prey on them, although weak or old individuals may sometimes find themselves at risk from more powerful predators such as Lavasioth, Teostra, Lunastra, Rajang, Agnaktor, Lagiacrus, Akura Jebia, Abiorugu, Meraginasu or even the rare Crimson Fatalis. Despite this, they can more than hold their own against most creatures. They are also known to have battles with Khezu in the caves of the swamp.
Biological Adaptions[]
Rustrazor Ceanataur has many of the same adaptions as Shogun Ceanataur, however, there is a few differences between them. Due to constantly sharpening its claws, Rustrazor Ceanataur's sickles have become deadlier and better for killing potential prey. These claws are now able to rip through armor easily, leaving little protection for armored prey. It was able to sharpen its claws by using the skull of a Glavenus, which in turn changed them to a new deadly form. Much like Glavenus's tail, its claws are now known to become rusty in battle, but it can resharpen them by using the Glavenus skull. It doesn't wear the skull all the time but keeps it hidden underground until it needs, or wants, to use it in battle.
Behavior[]
Rustrazor Ceanataur is much more aggressive than a normal Shogun Ceanataur due to its deadly claws. Due to armor not protecting hunters against this Shogun Ceanataur's attacks, it was given the secondary name, Rustrazor. Due to this, the Hunter's Guild only allow hunters with special permits to hunt this Deviant down.
