This page is entitled "Weapon Mechanics", therefore should only contain information about a weapon. For secondary status effects that can be inflicted onto a player, see: Status Effects

As for the different types of elements that a monster may possess, that should go on a separate page.

Weapon Mechanics should include what a sword with 240 Poison means to me. I have yet to come across a guide that explains how special status effects (poison/paralyze/sleep) built in to weapons works. What is the math behind it and therefore are they worth using? Most people that make a guide aknowledge that they exist but brush them aside because their guide only explains raw damage calculations.

Not only is the status effect information on this page unnecessary, it's inaccurate and misleading, as it claims that Stun and Paralysis are the same thing, which isn't true.

Can i change the dragon attack to a newer one with more detail?--AnimalKirby 23:56, June 23, 2010 (UTC)

Mistakes on the page[]

Some of the monsters on this page are in the wrong category. Dyuragaua is under fire, Berukyurosu is under ice. I would fix it, but I'm not good with computers and would probably do something wrong. Smileitsantony 15:27, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

Never mind. Didn't read the page properly. It's enemies weak to those elements. :P Smileitsantony 15:28, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

There's some vital information missing[]

Sharpness is not only a raw base damage multiplier, it also dictates how piercing your weapon is. If your weapon is not sharp enough, it will bounce off certain parts of certain monsters.

Example: in MHTri, if your weapon is below Blue sharpness, it will bounce off a Gobul's spikes, and most of a Barroth's hide.

Of course, information like this can only be attained through testing.... The general fact still needs to be put on this page, though. Garuu 05:23, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

Working on it...[]

I've added the bouncing thing to the description of sharpness, and Even if my Guide still only explains Raw and elemental damage, I'll add Status Calculation as soon as possible, but I've got a life outside the wikia so I won't have that much time to do this...

please wait a bit and the stauts stuff wil come too.-HummelHunter 20:01, August 24, 2010 (UTC)
