The following list below are Ecological Tree Plots (生態樹型図) of most Monsters in the Monster Hunter Series. These are official data that are taken from Capcom's "Hunter's Encyclopedia 1", "Hunter's Encyclopedia 2", "Hunter's Encyclopedia G", "Hunter's Encyclopedia 3", and "Hunter's Encyclopedia 4".
Initial Notes:
- Information are mostly in Japanese as source materials are only available in Japanese. As such, there are unofficial rough translations of certain Japanese terms in this Article.
- Subspecies, Rare Species, new Monsters beyond Monster Hunter 3 (Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Monster Hunter 4, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and Monster Hunter Generations), and exclusive Monsters in the Frontier Series are not included in this list as their official data are not present at the moment. For some reason, Fishes are also not included in the list.
- Recent updates to the Ecological Tree (as of the Monster Hunter Museum) now include all of the monsters from MHGen.

Notes[]
- According to Monster Hunter Frontier, Dyuragaua and Mi Ru are under the Rex Family.
- Subspecies, Rare Species, Variants, etc. are under their original Species counterpart's sections, though this is only ever shown in the Hunter's Encyclopedia and Monster Hunter Ecological Books.
