Interesting Facts About Anjanath[]

  • Anjanath is an aggressive Brute Wyvern that was discovered in the New World.
  • It inhabits the Ancient Forest, though sometimes wanders into the Wildspire Waste.
  • It gets the title Fierce Jaw Wyvern (Japanese 蛮顎竜) from its jaws being its main weapon for attacking and killing prey.
    • Anjanath commonly feed on Aptonoth, but have also been seen eating lesser predators.
  • Anjanath will attack just about anything at a moments notice due to it being highly aggressive in nature. It is a relentless predator that is known for chasing down prey great distances, especially when angered by said prey. It won't let any prey escape its grasp easily.
    • From its aggressive nature, hunters can easily lure Anjanath to a more desirable area to fight. Hunters can also lure Anjanath into another monster's territory.
  • Anjanath's nostrils are quite different from other monsters. The nostrils are able to expand greatly, thus increasing its sense of smell, and allow it to spray a yellow mucus on objects, which is used to mark the Anjanath's territory. It has even been seen spewing flames from its nostrils, rarely.
  • Hidden in Anjanath's back are two fin-like organs that somewhat resemble wings. These organs aren't used for flight, but it's unknown what their true purpose is at this time.
    • It has been seen spreading these fins while resting in the sun, suggesting they might be used for regulating its body temperature.
  • Similar to Glavenus, Anjanath is able to store fire in its throat for a short period of time. Though it isn't able to breathe a powerful fiery blast like Glavenus, Anjanath is able to breathe a short stream of fire at enemies.
  • Anjanath is in the middle of the Ancient Forest food chain, right under the top predator of the Ancient Forest, Rathalos. Despite this, Anjanath has been seen defeating lesser monsters like Great Jagras and Tobi-Kadachi.
