Interesting Facts About Safi'jiiva[]

Order: Elder Dragon - Suborder: Dark Light Dragon - Family: Jiiva

  • Xeno'jiiva was a newly discovered elder dragon that the Guild knew little about. Despite studying a specimen slain by an unnamed hunter in the commission in the New World, much remained unknown about the monster. Unknownst to the Hunter's Guild and Research Commission at the time, there was another Xeno'jiiva hiding in what we now know as the Guiding Lands. This individual was allowed to continuously molt as it further grew more powerful and reached adulthood, becoming the Red Dragon known as Safi'jiiva.
    • Some researchers suspected that Xeno'jiiva might go through such a change as it further grew.
  • It takes a Xeno'jiiva a long time to emerge from its cocoon, a couple of decades, or maybe even longer. Upon emerging from its cocoon, it'll stay in one area to absorb the energy from the surrounding environment until it reaches adulthood.
  • Xeno'jiiva spends most of its time underground since that's where the land's energy is most concentrated, but it doesn't have the best eyesight while young. Those extra six orbs on its head are sensory organs used for detecting bioenergy in its environment. Since its body is relatively soft while it is young, Xeno'jiiva uses its oddly shaped claws to absorb energy from the ground as it further grows.
  • When Xeno'jiiva emerges out of its cocoon, its heat organ, the glowing organ in its chest, is underdeveloped. It'll stay in one area for a long period of time, and absorb energy from the surrounding environment as it continuously molts, changing as it further grows. Despite Xeno'jiiva absorbing immense amounts of energy from the veins of the earth for many years while in its cocoon, it can't produce energy on its own yet. Once it is fully grown, it can produce it on its own without the need of taking in energy from its environment. Although Safi'jiiva can produce energy on its own efficiently, it needs a considerable amount to heal wounds it has sustained. To recover from injuries, it uses the land's energy instead of its own. By rapidly increasing its metabolism, Safi'jiiva can heal its wounds quickly with the land's energy.
    • As Xeno'jiiva continuously molts to reach adulthood, it'll lose certain parts like its strange claws, and those sensory organs, since it doesn't need them anymore upon becoming Safi'jiiva. Remnants of those parts can be found on Safi'jiiva upon breaking its parts.
  • Safi'jiiva was in the Guiding Lands reshaping the ecosystem for its own benefits, absorbing energy from the surrounding environment as it drained places of their vital energy. This behavior greatly impacts the ecosystem and can leave places devoid of life like the Secluded Valley. It can affect an environment without some other creatures knowing until it's too late.
    • Safi'jiiva seems to does this for its own preservation and propagation.
    • Stygian Zinogre came from a completely different location, and was seemingly lured out of its original home by Safi'jiiva.
    • Recently, an Alatreon was seen in the Secluded Valley shortly after Safi'jiiva was repelled by hunters, but it's unknown why it even went there. It doesn't seem like it was trying to pick a fight with Safi'jiiva, but they seem to have some kind of connection with each other.
