Wingdrake

Wingdrakes (Japanese: 翼竜種 Yokuryūshu) are small wyverns, often resembling birds or pterosaurs. Using a grappling hook, a wingdrake can be hooked onto and used as a method of transportation.

• Wingdrakes were introduced in the Fifth Generation of the Monster Hunter series and as such, no Wingdrake existed in the Generations prior to Fifth and in Monster Hunter Orage.
• All of the currently existing wingdrakes' names end in "-os."
  • Regitrice, is an exception, however. It is the only known wingdrake present in the Old World and the only one that is instead categorized as Endemic Life.
• The Japanese for "Wingdrake" is "翼竜", which, in the real world, is the Japanese name for the clade Pterosaur.
