Zoh Shia is a Construct monster first introduced in Monster Hunter Wilds, and the final boss of said game's Low-Rank.
Physiology[]
Zoh Shia's initial appearance takes the form of an "artificial angel-dragon". Its body covered in a sleek, paste-white shell of pure Wylk ("Wyvern Milk") crystal with a smooth, featureless face and numerous crystal formations all over its body and wing arms that curve upwards like feathers. Its mouth, which is normally not visible when closed, has unnatural blue flesh and small teeth. The Wylk crystals on its limbs give all its claws a feathery covering.
As more of the Construct's crystal shell is destroyed faster than it can regenerate, Zoh Shia's body mutates drastically into a horrific coal-black abomination. The head and jaw grow longer with grotesque teeth filling its' maw, and numerous twisted horns sprout from its face and arms like malignant tumors.
Behavior and Abilities[]
Zoh Shia was the ultimate secret weapon of the Ancient Civilization of Wyveria, created to defend the empire against an unknown threat. However, the Elder Dragon-like Construct instead turned out to be too powerful to control and ended up causing the fall of the Ancient Civilization thousands of years ago. The few survivors of the fall had managed to seal Zoh Shia away in the Dragontorch Shrine where it then began to feed on the limitless energy of the Dragontorch (the source of Wylk) that Wyveria once used to manipulate natural phenomena for their own benefit during their golden age. This caused said phenomena (now known as "Inclemencies") to occur regularly throughout the Forbidden Lands, with many species eventually adapting to them.
At first, it attacks with a combination of physical attacks and bursts of Wylk explosions, like other Guardian monsters only on a grander scale. Also like the Guardians, Zoh Shia can regenerate damaged parts of its crystal shell when wounded. Following it's mutation, it becomes much more adept at fire attacks, its abilities rivalling those of all three Fatalis species (it can use the Inferno and charged fireballs of Iceborne's Fatalis, the leaping flames and meteors of Crimson Fatalis, and the Dragon-lightning of White Fatalis).
It is thought to be able to replicate itself through a means similar to asexual reproduction, meaning even after its death it can return; however it must be in close proximity to a massive source of energy, such as the Dragontorch, to be able to do this. Despite this limitation, it can do so if even a microscopic piece of its body remains intact, making it effectively indestructible.
